Standards and Ratings

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England. CQC inspects and assesses the quality of care home each year in the following 5 categories:

  • Safe

  • Effective

  • Caring

  • Responsive

  • Well led

CQC monitor, inspect and regulate services to make sure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety and they publish what they find, including performance ratings to help people choose care.

 

CQC's fundamental standards are:

  • Person-centred care

  • Dignity and respect

  • Consent

  • Safety

  • Safeguarding from abuse

  • Food and drink

  • Premises and equipment

  • Complaints

  • Good governance

  • Staffing

  • Fit and proper staff

  • Duty of candour  

  • Display of rating

Belmont View’s latest CQC inspection provided a Good rating, meaning that we have met all standards. As part of the Good rating CQC also rated Belmont View as being Outstanding in the well-led category.

"People told us they were offered plenty to eat and assisted to select healthy food and drinks which helped to ensure that their nutritional needs were met. We saw that each individual’s preference was catered for and people were supported to manage their weight and nutritional needs."

Since the Food Hygiene Ratings introduction in 2011, Belmont View has maintained a 5 star rating, which is reassessed annually.

ISO 9001:2008 is an internationally recognised award provided by CQS (Certified Quality Systems) which is recognised worldwide. This certification is viewed as a proactive and positive move by existing and prospective clients/customers.
